gm. Kłodawa, pow. kolski, woj. wielkopolskie ![]() The village was located in the Włodawski starosty and was partially settled by the Dutch in 1785. Two colonists were granted "30 morga of poor land" near the village of Tarnówek. In 1827, the village had 28 houses and 258 residents. Bierzwienna Długa is a large linear village with a multi-street layout, located to the northwest of Kłodawa on the Rgilówka river. The homesteads are situated on both sides of roads running mainly longitudinally and also along a northwest-southeast line. The cultural landscape characteristic of the Dutch colonization is in good condition. Traditional field layout, homestead location, and canals collecting the ground water excess are preserved. No examples of traditional architecture associated with the settlers are present; however, several houses erected after the WWII draw on traditional Dutch design. SGKP, t.I., 1880, s.222. |
