The village was mentioned in 1292. In 1552, its privileges were renewed. Currently, Ostrowite is a part of the village of Suchy D±b. Village layout - a linear village and a Waldhufendorf village located on both sides of a north-south road. The cultural landscape has partially survived. Layouts of 6 Dutch homesteads with transformed buildings, a field layout, and a system of draining ditches have survived. There are no preserved buildings associated with the Dutch colonization.
