In the years 1399-1446, in the place of the village there existed a mansion owned by the Commander of Gniew. In the 14th and beginning of the 16th century, the mansion farm collapsed due to war destructions and the land belonging to it was used as pastures. In 1682, 6 farmers lived here, who paid a rent. They settled here for 40 years. In 1744, there were already 10 of them, in this 5 Mennonites. A stronger development followed the end of the 7-year war, in the 2nd half of the 18th century. In 1780, the village counted 194 inhabitants. In 1910, it counted 278 ha of land and 118 persons, in this 52 Poles. The cultural landscape has been preserved in a good condition. The original layout of roads, homesteads and fields is visible.

A colony-village situated on the right bank of the Vistula, in the northern part of the Kwidzyn lowlands, about 15 km north-west of Kwidzyn.
