Jerzy Szałygin, born in 1962, ethnographer, conservator of relics, graduated from the Department of Ethnography of the Historical Institute of the Warsaw University (1987). Expert of the Association of Conservators of Relics in the field of immovable relics and evaluation of protection of cultural property. Scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage (1999). Twice awarded a Gold Distinction for Care of Relics. Author of over a hundred studies, articles and documentation in the field of ethnography and protection of relics. Propagator of protection of wooden architecture in Poland, especially sacral, small-town and folk architecture. Senior Specialist for records of historical objects in the State Office for Protection of Public Collections in Warsaw.
