Map of district

gm. Nowy Staw, pow. malborski, woj. pomorskie

Until 1945 Gross Mausdorf,TK (Gotha, Endersch, Schrőtter)

In 1332, lands of Myszewo and Myszewko were granted to Jan .... by the city council of Stare Miasto in Elbląg. The Feast of the Cross parish church was founded in the 14th century. Dutch settlers arrived probably in the mid 17th century. The sources from 1776 mentioned the following Mennonite names: Andeas, Fast, Hamm, and Wiens. In 1820, the village had 414 residents, including 27 Mennonites.

Village layout - linear and square village in a north - south line with 4 large farms in the eastern section of the village.

The cultural landscape has been heavily modified. A large number of the buildings in the western section have been demolished. In the other sections, historical buildings are being replaced. The examples of historical architecture include primarily brick houses from the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries, several wooden houses from the 19th century, and several Dutch homesteads (outbuildings demolished) in colonies.

No. 14 is a longitudinal Dutch homestead (a barn - demolished) situated in the western section of the village, on the northern side of a road, facing it with its ridge. A cowshed has been partially taken down and partially converted into an apartment. The house dates from the 3rd quarter of the 19th century. It has a brick underpinning, a corner-notched log structure with quoins covered by boards imitating Tuscan pilaster, a vertically boarded gable, a queen post - purlin roof structure with an angle brace, and pantile roofing. The eastern elevation has 3 axes and a 4-axial gable with two windows enclosed by quarter-circular skylights and a window with a semicircular arch above. The southern elevation has 7 axes and a centrally located entrance.
No. 6 is a house from an old longitudinal Dutch homestead (a farming section - demolished) situated in the eastern section of the village, by a road bend. It dates from the mid 19th century and has a log structure with quoins covered by boards imitating Tuscan pilaster, a vertically boarded gable, and a high roof covered by pantiles. The eastern elevation has 3 axes with a 1-axial gable. The western elevation has 6 axes (modified).
